Goal Statement: Create a brand identity for a horror festival/carnival that celebrates Mexican culture and takes influences from Dia De Los Muertos.
Fright Fiesta is a combination horror festival and carnival with an emphasis on Mexican culture. The event incorporates themes from the Mexican holiday, Dia de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead). For adult movie aficionados, there are horror/suspense film screenings from directors/filmmakers Guillermo Del Toro, Juan López Moctezuma, and Jayro Bustamante. For families and kids there are activities such as a corn maze, face painting, games, and a costume contest.
Logo
The Fright Fiesta logo takes inspiration from Dia de Los Muertos. Specifically, "calaveras" which are sugar skulls made during this Mexican holiday. The original, hand-lettered typeface gives the overall aesthetic of the logo an edgy, but homemade quality.
